Read the story behind the art
The Michigan photograph is titled Family Light. A bright red lighthouse anchors the end of the pier, with two people walking nearby and a boat farther out on the water. I like the way that little bit of red holds its ground against all the cool blue and gray. The notes I left for this chapter were placeholders or text copied from Indiana, so I don't have a trustworthy story about choosing this particular shot. The image can speak for itself while I find the missing part of the story.

“I could pretend that I remember the soup changing my life, but that would make for a very suspicious review. For now the food pictures get to be the record, and the opinion stays unwritten.”
Read about this meal
The photographs from Clementine’s in South Haven show French onion soup, Bandito Fettuccine, and the receipts. My original Michigan food text was accidentally copied from the Indiana chapter, so I can tell you what I ordered but cannot honestly reconstruct how I felt about every bite. I could pretend that I remember the soup changing my life, but that would make for a very suspicious review. For now the food pictures get to be the record, and the opinion stays unwritten.

Where I ranSouth Haven, Michigan
I ran 5.75 miles in South Haven in 1:05:52, averaging 11:27 per mile, with 64 feet of elevation gain. The route map follows the shoreline and the town streets, and the weather screenshot reads 73°F. The location typed in my old draft for this page belongs to Pennsylvania, not Michigan, so I am leaving that address out. The run record itself is clear: Michigan happened, the miles happened, and the water was right there beside the route. My filing system was the part that took a wrong turn.
