Read the story behind the art
I drove all over Lenox looking for a picture and came away with exactly two places I liked: an old stone church and this house on Kemble Street. The house won. Those trees frame it so well that I almost look like I planned the whole thing, and the chimney, well, road, and path on the right give me plenty to look at. For the lower edge of the frame I used a piece of the well, cut into layers and changed in size and angle. I’m pleased with this one. Apparently the search was worth the gas.

Read about this meal
Lenox had plenty of fancy restaurant options, but I wanted comfort food, not a meal that required me to sit up straight. Mazcots Sports Bar & Grill sounded more like it. I started with fried meatballs in marinara. They were burnt underneath but still tasty, which is a strange little victory. Then came chicken mac and cheese, much better than the version I had in Chester two weeks earlier. I finished with Snickers pie. I cleaned every plate, so I suppose that counts as a positive review, even if Exeter was still holding the food crown.

Where I ranBerkshire Home Design Center Lot 55 Pittsfield Rd, Lenox, MA 01240
I started near the Berkshire Home Design Center lot and covered 6.50 miles around Lenox in 1:11:03. My watch recorded a 10:55 average pace and 557 feet of climbing. That elevation gain would explain why the first three miles were much faster than the last few. The opening mile was 9:27; by mile four I was at 11:59. I could call that pacing strategy, but the hills might object. It was 34°F, and Massachusetts still got its run, even if it made me work for the entry.
