Read the story behind the art
I chose Adams Park for the first stop of my northern Midwest trip because it looked promising for both a run and a photograph. The ‘grotto’ part made me expect a cave. I never found one, but there was a small island with birds all over it. I shot it from several angles and kept this view for Fergus Fowl. I like the saturated blues and greens and the way the frame came out. This was also the first state where my run and Art photograph began at the same place. The park delivered a picture; it just declined to explain the grotto.

“Overall the meal was fine; the cheese bread was the clear winner. If it had entered the restaurant alone, I might still have reviewed the place favorably.”
Read about this meal
Mabel Murphy’s started the northern trip with a plate of cheese bread that looked modest in the photo and was anything but. Four enormous breadsticks could have been a meal by themselves. I followed them with a teriyaki chicken sandwich, pineapple, and waffle fries. The sweetness took a minute to make sense with the chicken, but I grew to like it. I finished with a brownie sundae because apparently the bread had not done enough. Overall the meal was fine; the cheese bread was the clear winner. If it had entered the restaurant alone, I might still have reviewed the place favorably.

Where I ranAdams Park on the Groto S Burlington Ave, Fergus Falls, MN 56537
I set out from Adams Park for the Minnesota run and covered 5.51 miles in 1:00:02, averaging 10:53 per mile. The watch counted 198 feet of climbing, and the weather image says 71°F. I was also looking for the state’s Art picture, and the little bird-covered island in the park gave me one before I had to go far. This was the first time the run and photo location were the same. Efficient, yes, though I still managed to spend time searching for a grotto I never saw.
