Read the story behind the art
I had several possible Mississippi pictures, including a long pier at Beach Park. Then I ran down Beach Boulevard and noticed this tree swing. It looked as though it might belong to a nearby property, but the swing and the branches made a more interesting photograph for me. In the finished piece I softened the house in the background and kept the board nailed to the tree because it added a little mystery. I chose a warm yellow-and-gray treatment and a light frame. The pier was nice; the swing had more questions.

Read about this meal
Brasa Ardiente was the only place to eat I found nearby. When I arrived around 1:30, the buffet looked so empty I had to ask if it was open. Once someone came to the counter, I paid and had the room to myself for a while. The choices included onion rings, beans, little wraps, kielbasa, peppers, and onions. I liked the first helping enough to return for beef stew and two small cupcakes. A young child wandered into the dining area while I was eating, adding a curious twist to the visit. The service was odd, the experience was odd, and the food was actually pretty good.

I started at Pascagoula Beach Park and ran 5.48 miles in 1:02:30. The watch shows an 11:24 average pace and only 17 feet of climbing, which is practically flat compared with the western hills. The route took me near the shore and along Beach Boulevard. That was where I spotted the tree swing that won out over my earlier pier photographs. Mississippi gave me a nice reminder that finding the Art picture can happen halfway through the Run part. Convenient, when my brain is paying attention.
